It’s been a long while since we last posted on our blog…and a lot has happened!
We all saw the impact Covid-19 had on individuals and businesses, not just locally but globally. With the first lockdown being announced in the UK on the 23rd of March 2020, the furlough scheme was introduced to assist employers to pay their employee’s wages, as well as ensuring those who were unable to work from home were still receiving an income.
One of the other measures introduced in July 2020 for England and Northern Ireland was the ‘Stamp Duty Holiday’ to assist home buyers who had been affected financially, during the pandemic. During this time many people took this opportunity to move home.
As a Self-Storage Company, we saw an increase in bookings for people who were in the process of moving home and needing to store their household items whilst they were waiting for their house purchase to be completed.
All our storage containers were fully booked with an ever-growing waiting list. This prompted us to increase the storage capacity on our sites by installing additional containers throughout the pandemic.
Although the ‘Stamp Duty Holiday’ ended in late 2021, we are still receiving bookings from customers who are moving home as well as our commercial customers continuing to grow.
At the time of writing, we currently have a few containers available at our Grantham site and short waiting lists at our Sleaford and Melton Mowbray sites. If you require storage with us in the near future, then please be sure to register your interest as soon as possible to avoid the potential for disappointment.
In the meantime, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers (present and past) for their support during this exceptionally turbulent time and offer everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2022.
Take care and stay safe!
